Garlic Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts are one of my all time favorite foods! (My younger self would never believe my eyes reading that sentence) This recipe is quick and easy, and definitely won't disappoint!

What you will need:

3 oz. of brussels sprouts (37 cal)

1 clove minced garlic (4 cal)

Olive oil spray (0 cal)

What you need to do:

Cut the sprouts in half (or in half again if you want more volume to your meal) and place them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes. When the sprouts are done, they should be more brightly colored green than when you first put them in.

Drain the sprouts and pat them dry with a paper towel, trying to get them as dry as possible. Not getting them dry will result in a lot of liquid once this dish is finished, which makes the sprouts taste more bland and they get mushy.

Spray a little oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sprouts face down (the flat side) and cook until that side is browned, then flip them.

Add the garlic and cook until the garlic is soft and the sprouts are browned. Brown food is good!

You may add whatever spices you like to this dish. I like to add red pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper!
